Role and Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to students with a range of SEN, including learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, and other additional needs. Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies. Work closely with teachers to support lesson delivery and adapt learning materials to meet the diverse needs of students. Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment, encouraging students' confidence and independence. Support students in small group settings or on a one-to-one basis, depending on their individual needs. Assist with personal care tasks where required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to enhance student progress and well-being. Maintain accurate records and provide feedback on students’ progress to teaching staff and SEN coordinators. Requirements: Experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting. A relevant qualification in SEN support (e.g., CACHE Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with children who may present challenging behaviour. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. An understanding of different learning styles and strategies to support children with additional needs. The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. A willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development.
