TEACHER OF ENGLISH
We are looking for a dynamic A Level teacher to join a well-established and well-resourced English department for September 2025. The department comprises three full-time teachers and one part-time teacher, following the Edexcel A Level (2015) course (9ET0) with the Drama, Prose and Poetry units and there are over 75 students in all. Experience of delivering GCSE or IGCSE English for retake candidates would be a significant advantage, as we offer this opportunity to all students. This is a full-time role in which the teacher will take responsibility for three classes. Contact time with each class is six hours per week, a 70 minutes lesson per day, and support outside of lesson time is regarded as an essential supplement.
The department also runs an Advanced English group, allowing students who are interested in humanities degrees in higher education to extend their experience, as well as Muse, a platform for the creative student voice, which includes a dedicated blog and podcast, interviews with past students, as well as occasional events and exhibitions.
