We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 contractor working on two significant pipe-laying projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong civils background and experience in utilities projects to contribute to these impactful works.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will manage the financial and contractual aspects of two major projects:
1. A £10m pipe-laying project near Reading, expected to span 4 years.
2. A £4m project in Oxford, encompassing bridge refurbishment and pipe-laying on the bridge.
This Senior Quantity Surveyor role offers hybrid working but will require occasional site visits. Candidates based in the Reading/Oxford area or South and West London are ideally suited.
Responsibilities:
1. Managing project budgets, costs, and financial forecasting.
2. Administering NEC contracts and ensuring compliance.
3. Preparing and negotiating final accounts.
4. Conducting site visits to monitor progress and address any financial issues.
5. Collaborating with project teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery.
6. Providing regular financial reports and advice to key stakeholders.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the civils or utilities sector.
2. Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and subcontractor management, specifically NEC Option C.
3. Experience working on pipe-laying, infrastructure, or utilities projects is highly desirable.
4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
5. A proactive and detail-oriented approach to cost management.
