King Edwin school is looking to appoint a Maintenance Assistant to help support the efficient upkeep of the school and grounds. The role will entail assisting the site manager in all aspects of ensuring the school is a clean and safe environment for pupils, staff and visitors. The hours will mainly be afternoons between 1.30 and 5.30 Monday to Friday, with some occasional weekend work to help with the school animals- by negotiation. King Edwin is a Special, Independent school with 90 pupils based in Norton
Job Purpose:
To work as part of a team to assist in the maintenance of fabric, fixtures and services to all School property and grounds.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* To work as part of a team to assist in the maintenance of fabric, fixtures and services to all school property and grounds.
* Assist with routine tasks connected to the upkeep and maintenance of buildings and grounds within the school.
* To assist the site manager in carrying out reactive and planned maintenance.
* Perform general housekeeping duties to keep tools tidy and safe.
* To assist in the cleanliness of the school
* Act as a key holder when required
* Any other general duties as deemed appropriate by the site manager.
* Any other appropriate duties under the direction of the line manager for the placement, applicable to the grade and qualifications of the post.

Other Requirements:
You must co-operate with the company in complying with the Health and Safety requirements and are therefore expected to follow company policies, to acquaint yourself with the Fire, Health and Safety Procedures at your place of work and report any unsafe practices and conditions
The post holder may be reasonably expected to undertake other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility that may be allocated from time to time.
