Learning Support Assistant Key Information Contract: Full-time, temporary Start date: December 2024 (Must be available for trails) End date: Ongoing Provision: Generic Specialist provision Working hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm Pay: £10.77 - £12.77 Location: Rawtenstall The School The school is a specialist provision that provides an enriched curriculum to children with EHCP’s (Educational Health Care Plans) and for those who may not be able to access mainstream. The school caters for children from 2-11 and had a cohort of experienced staff that put the children at the heart of their role. The headteacher is keen to welcome someone who will be a compliment to their staff and is dedicated in using their initiative. The Role As a Learning Support Assistant you will be required follow EHCP’s to support the pupils as directed by the class teacher. As SEN environments vary you must be willing to offer a helping hand when needed and ensure that you are creating an environment where pupils can learn and grow. As the student may struggle with their behaviour you will need to develop strategies to cope with high pressure situations and to regulate emotions. You will need to differentiate your approach to meet the needs of the pupils. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to assess the progress and attainment of the pupils you are required to have exceptional communication skills.
