Network Architect
Based in Corsham (Hybrid working available)
£700 - £750 per day Inside IR35
Must hold active DV Clearance
The role: Deliver the following service components ensuring they are delivered within Quality/Cost/Time requirements, identifying and using the best delivery methods.
1. Using knowledge and experience of technologies: LAN (local area network), WAN (wide area network), Wi-Fi, data-centre LAN, SD (software-defined) networks, telephony, mobile solutions infrastructure, unified comms, network management solutions, network-specific security and remote access technologies and approaches;
1. Provide advice and guidance to Fixed Networks Product Owners on MSP service transition, implementation of new services to enable the successful completion of DD test and release processes and changes to existing services.
2. Review and assure MSP and third party supplier Design Documentation, including High Level Designs (HLD), Low Level Designs (LLD), Requests for Change (RFCs) and Impact Assessments (IA), provision of security documentation, Risk Balance Cases (RBCs).
3. Collaborate with engineers to ensure systems are practically designed and agree SLAs (service level agreements) and engage with third party suppliers.
Requirements:
1. Governance and assurance: You can understand technical governance and can participate in or deliver the assurance of a service.
2. IT infrastructure (network architect): You can support, design and implement infrastructure technologies and solutions including computing, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, commercial-off-the-shelf software (COTS), and open source packages and solutions, as well as virtual and cloud computing such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).
3. Systems design: You can create the specification and design of systems to meet defined business needs and work with business and technology stakeholders to translate business problems into technical designs.
4. Systems integration (network architect): You can understand and design network services that integrate with existing or new services, including cloud services and infrastructure.
5. Technical understanding: You can demonstrate knowledge of the specific technologies necessary to fulfil the responsibilities and tasks of the role and actively keep informed of industry developments.
6. Troubleshooting and problem resolution: You can think laterally to break a problem down into its component parts to identify and diagnose root causes, allowing problem resolution across different technology capabilities.
