Protocol are working closely with a Further Education College based in Corbidge to help recruit for a SEND Lecturer to work within the college supporting students on different levels throughout their courses of study.
This post is to start as soon as possible – Full Time hours – Temporary ongoing contract.
£25 – £30 per hour, Plus Statutory Holiday Pay
The Role
* To contribute effectively to the successful learning experiences of students with learning disabilities and or difficulties within the Learning for Living and Work department.
* Effective teaching that meets or exceeds College standards and results in high levels of student retention and achievement.
* Course management as required.
* To offer students with learning disabilities and or difficulties a high-quality learning experience to achieve their long-term goals or qualifications.
* To teach effectively on a range of College courses and programmes.
* To lead a small course team and be a course tutor as required.
* To contribute to the personal and social development of the students.
* To develop course materials, schedules of learning, lesson plans etc. and make these available through the college's shared information system.
* To contribute to the organisational requirements of the School and the College.
* To carry out all duties and responsibilities with due regard to the College’s Single Equality Scheme.
* To co-operate with the College in order to ensure his/her own health and safety and that of students and colleagues.
* To teach on a range of programmes relevant to the curriculum subject.
* To make a significant contribution to curriculum development and course co-ordination.
Have you got what it takes?
* Teaching experience in delivering lessons to students with a range of SEND, across a broad range of subjects, including English and maths.
* Holds a teaching qualification or experience teaching in FE.
* Knowledge and understanding of course structures, learning approaches and assessment to meet the needs of students with a range of LDD.
* Organisational skills in programme planning and delivery.
* The ability to articulate clearly and to be understood in teaching and making presentations and resources to meet the diverse needs of students with LDD.
* Team player with good communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, students, parents and external bodies.
* Efficient administration skills to support good student record keeping.
* Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and is able to effectively motivate and inspire others.
* Enhanced DBS on the update service.
