Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council prides itself on being a great place to work where staff are trusted, valued and supported to make a positive contribution at work.
Education, Inclusion and Achievement have an exciting opportunity to recruit two caseworkers to join our Vulnerable Learner's Locality Team.
We are looking for two dynamic individuals who thrive working in a fast-paced, demanding team environment. You will be highly motivated, well-organised, have excellent communication skills and have experience of working with schools, agencies, children and their families. Relevant experience of working with schools, in particular pupils who have low attendance, and are not engaging fully in education is preferred.
You will be fully committed to supporting the outcomes for children and young people in Stockton so that they are able to access, attend and receive a full-time education that meets their needs and helps them to flourish and reach their aspirations.
You will be able to manage and prioritise your own caseload, be solution-focused, resilient, confident in working out in the community home visiting parents and with senior leaders in schools. A commitment to learning new skills is also a must.
You will be employed in a busy team with colleagues who have responsibility for parental responsibility attendance legal measures and the children not in the school agenda. This includes working in partnership with staff in schools to provide advice, guidance, support and challenge. There will also be opportunities to deliver continuous professional development to groups of staff in schools.
For more detailed information about the role, please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification included in the Supporting Documents section.
In return we offer an excellent total reward package, including:
* A competitive salary of up to £36,124
* 27 days annual leave per year rising to 32 with 5 years service (plus bank holidays). Ability to purchase additional leave is also available.
* Generous Pension Scheme through the LGPS with ability to pay extra and plan for retirement.
* Access to a number of other employee benefits including learning & development opportunities, a car lease scheme, discounts at high street and online retailers, an employee assistance programme and physiotherapy services.
