Job Title: Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: £31,800 - £42,400
My client is a leading engineering consultancy, renowned for delivering high-quality Electrical Services Design solutions. They are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Services Design Engineer to join their team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to diverse projects and ensure excellence in design and implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Electrical Services Design:
1. Contribute to the delivery of Electrical Services Design on assigned projects.
2. Maintain and enhance the quality and efficiency of design and post-contract implementation.
2. Client and Team Interaction:
1. Represent the organisation through direct client contact and collaboration with design team members.
2. Occasionally represent the company at meetings in both Electrical and Mechanical Services disciplines.
3. Project Management:
1. Apply and enforce office procedures and basic engineering principles.
2. Manage multiple projects and oversee the work of Assistant and Apprentice Engineers.
3. Develop Concept Designs as part of the RIBA Stage 2 & 3 Design Process.
4. Prepare scheme design drawings from concept to detailed design.
5. Provide input to Stage 2 and 3 MEP Reports and understand the commercial framework for projects.
4. Detailed Design (RIBA Stage 4):
1. Develop Electrical Services detailed design.
2. Oversee design work by junior engineering staff and ensure quality standards are met.
3. Understand project deadlines and client briefs.
5. Software Proficiency:
1. Use CAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Amtech/Trimble, Dialux, PV Sol, Manual Calculations, Chorus, Word, and Excel.
2. Develop the abilities of Assistant and Apprentice Engineers in using these software packages.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Degree qualified and working towards chartered status.
2. Demonstrated success in a Graduate Electrical Engineer role.
3. Project management, delivery, and quality assurance skills.
4. Strong client-facing and interpersonal skills.
5. Initiative-driven with problem-solving abilities.
6. Valid UK Driving Licence (preferable) and willingness to travel for meetings and projects.
