Purpose of the role To ensure that Heidelberg Materials UK products are delivered to customers in a timely, efficient and courteous manner. To ensure that the professional standards of the company are upheld at all times. To ensure that all aspects of Health and Safety, Working Time Directive, Road Transport Law and Company procedures are applied as part of the daily routine. The regional logistics function is responsible for the management of distribution operations to meet customer requirements. The function will improve the overall performance of this key business process and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements. Key accountabilities To ensure the vehicle and all equipment entrusted to him/her is properly maintained, kept in a clean condition and that all vehicle records are correctly maintained as required by the current legislation and company procedures. To comply with the relevant company personnel and administration policies and procedures. To ensure that all Heath and Safety, Working Time Directive and Road Transport regulatory requirements are followed. To ensure that all waste disposals, water discharges and dust emissions are dealt with in accordance with the Environmental procedures down. To carry out deliveries in the most cost effective, efficient and courteous manner. To ensure that attendance to the operating unit is timely and consistent with meeting the requirements of the company. To perform any other relevant duties as requested by Management. To operate specialised vehicles (walking floor/rolling floor/tipper/concrete mixer), as required Must be prepared to be flexible regarding location and will be required to work away/overnight as dictated by customer demand. Extended periods of working away may be required to support high volumes in other areas. Must be willing and able to undergo further training to satisfy customer requirements, including, but not limited to, a CRB/Scottish Disclosure check. Must be highly safety conscious and able to strictly always follow site rules Financial & Non-Financial accountabilities Education/Qualification GCSE grade 4 Equivalent to a C in Math's and English Clean Cat CE heavy goods license. Full working knowledge of Road Transport Law, Working Time Directive and relevant Health and Safety and Environmental legislation. Current DCPC card is essential. Valid EPIC/MPQC card.
