This is an opportunity for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to work at Stockwood House in Luton. You will be instrumental in promoting health and independence by delivering high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions, while also providing clinical leadership, supervision, and consultation to the wider multidisciplinary team. You will have the chance to develop specialist skills and receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals.
Main duties of the job
As an Occupational Therapist at Stockwood House, your responsibilities will include communicating effectively with a range of clinicians, managers, and stakeholders, providing compassionate and effective leadership to junior staff, ensuring the delivery of occupational therapy student placements, supporting the completion of appraisals and personal development plans, and developing and implementing appropriate policies, protocols, and care pathways.
Job responsibilities
Your responsibilities as an Occupational Therapist will include:
* Communicating effectively with a range of clinicians, managers, directors, associate directors, people who access services, carers/supporters/family members, stakeholders and agencies.
* Providing compassionate and effective leadership to junior staff including support staff and assistants.
* Ensuring the delivery of occupational therapy student placements.
* Supporting the completion of appraisals/personal development plans with junior staff.
* To be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate policies, protocols, and care pathways.
To be a Successful Occupational Therapist you will need:
* Occupational Therapy profession qualification.
* Extensive and relevant post-qualification clinical experience with individuals who have complex needs.
* Extensive experience of applying occupational frames of reference and approaches.
* Demonstrates evidence of highly effective clinical reasoning skills.
* Highly specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models.
* Knowledge of how to work with vulnerable individuals.

Locations: 32 Studley Road, 1 & 10 Cutenhoe Road, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU3 1BB.
You will be working at three care homes (Ellenbrook House, Stockwood House, and Talbot House) in Luton within close proximity to each other. The care homes provide care and support for people with eating disorders, with extra support around meals and food choices, a comprehensive group timetable and higher levels of assistance with community activities.
