Special Support Assistant Hourly Rate: £15.84 Location: Central Blackburn Job Type: Full-time Start date 22nd April Interview 2nd and 3rd April. We are seeking a dedicated Special Support Assistant to help a Year 3 child transition back to mainstream primary education from a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). This role is ideal for someone with experience in residential childcare or an SEMH school, who is passionate about supporting children in their educational journey. Day-to-day of the role: Provide tailored support to a Year 3 child, assisting them in adjusting and thriving in a mainstream primary school environment. Implement strategies and support mechanisms to facilitate the child's social, emotional, and educational development. Work closely with teachers and other educational staff to monitor the child's progress and adapt support measures as needed. Engage the child in activities that promote learning and positive behaviour. Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians to discuss the child's development and any concerns. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience working in residential childcare or an SEMH school. Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children transitioning from a PRU to mainstream education. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
