The Early Years/Childcare Assessor is required to use their up-to-date professional knowledge and skills to support vocational and professional development to learners undertaking Early Years programmes. As an assessor, coaching is seen as a complex set of interpersonal skills, it is more learner-centred, exploring the learner s understanding and needs rather than simply giving advice, and will form an integral part of the role.
As an assessor you are required to carry out the following duties in the context of the policies and practices, particularly Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety and Data Protection, and those of any host organisations, including informing learners of their obligations.

* CAVA, A1 award or equivalent,
* Qualification in Early Years at level 3 or equivalent
* Recognised teaching qualification e.g. AET, PTTLS or equivalent
* Previous assessing and teaching experience within the childcare sector.
