Support Worker (Female Enabler)

Role Overview
The purpose of the Enabler role is to support the safety and well-being of a young person, assisting her in engaging with a variety of leisure, social, and educational opportunities while implementing multidisciplinary recommendations and programs.
This role requires flexibility, including a mix of evening and weekend shifts, as support is needed on a 24-hour basis. Care is primarily provided in the young person’s home, with opportunities to accompany her to community-based leisure, therapeutic, and social activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Follow the health and well-being plan as documented for the young person.
* Encourage the young person’s independence to the greatest extent possible.
* Work collaboratively as part of a team, maintaining effective communication with fellow team members.
* Participate in procedures and approaches as specified for the young person.
* Facilitate participation in activities identified by the young person, their family, and healthcare or social care professionals while ensuring a balance between work and rest.
* Deliver educational, social, and therapeutic development programs if required, under the direction of relevant professionals.
* Monitor and report any significant changes in the young person’s health, behaviour, or overall functioning to the case manager and team leader.
* Be mindful of the young person’s vulnerability and take all reasonable precautions to ensure her safety.
* Provide support in following therapeutic guidelines if applicable.
* Accompany the young person to activities and outings.
Qualifications and Experience
* Some experience in caring for individuals with physical, behavioural, or learning disabilities is required.
* An NVQ in Children’s Care (or a related field) is desirable, as is further specialist training in the sector.
* First Aid training is required, and applicants with a recent qualification will be preferred.
* Proficiency in IT systems, including email, internet use, virtual meeting platforms, and electronic record-keeping, is essential.
* A full, valid driving license is required, as the role may involve driving the young person to activities.
Additional Information
Comprehensive training, supervision, and ongoing support will be provided as needed.
