Staffed by innovative, fleet-of-foot, forward-looking teams, they deploy the most cost-effective, modern nature-based solutions to deliver for beauty, climate, nature, people and the nation. We are seeking a Climate Change Coordinator to drive forward the Association’s work on developing frameworks for mitigating and adapting to climate change, working with individual National Landscape teams to enable landscapes to meet net zero targets and develop climate adaptation plans. The Climate Change Coordinator will understand the issues around climate change. Working in collaboration with individual National Landscapes, National Parks England and the Protected Landscapes Partnership to develop a common framework for tracking and reporting progress for Protected Landscapes on their Net-Zero/LULUCF targets; Working on a common framework to help National Landscape teams develop their climate adaptation plans. Ultimately, this role contributes to the development of the National Landscapes Association as the leading voice on designated landscapes in the UK. Successful candidates are likely to be from an environmental background, good at collaborating and using a consultative approach daily. They will be great communicators, influencing stakeholders and enthusing those working within National Landscapes. From a technical perspective, your experience will be relatable to designated landscapes, nature, climate or the environment, with a strong knowledge of the causes and effects of climate change and an understanding the opportunities to mitigate and adapt over the next 25 years. Interviews will be on the 19th and 20th December. This is a part time (2 days/week), two-year fixed term position with the potential to be extended if funding allows.
