About the Role:
In this newly created role, reporting to the Head of IT, you'll be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the company's data warehouse.
Responsibilities:
* Design and implement data models and schemas.
* Build and optimise ETL processes for seamless data integration from various sources.
* Develop efficient SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
* Oversee data warehouse build, deployment, and maintenance.
* Ensure high data quality and integrity through validation and cleansing techniques.
* Implement best practices for data ingestion and transformation.
* Optimise database performance and troubleshoot any issues to ensure efficiency.
* Collaborate with business analysts, IT, and development teams to align on data requirements and system integration.
* Support ad hoc requests and maintain comprehensive documentation for workflows and processes.
* Provide support for data-related inquiries from end-users and ensure system availability.
Experience required:
* Proven experience in data warehousing, modelling, and database design.
* Proficient in SQL (SSMS) and ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, SAS DI, Informatica, Talend).
* Experience with data warehouse platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
* Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
* Strong understanding of DBMS and data warehousing concepts (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema).
* Scripting skills (e.g., SQL, Python, Shell).
* Experience with cloud-based data warehouses.
* Understanding of data governance and security best practices.
