POSITION SUMMARY The Sr Software Engineer Team Leader's main responsibility is designing and developing software. This role focuses on understanding business and customer requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions. The Software Developer participates in all phases of the development lifecycle, including analysis, design, construction, test and integration of software. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Defining and agreeing scope of project releases and deliverables with stakeholders. • Effective estimation, prioritisation, delegation and assignment of work. • Contributing to hands-on coding and engineering process improvement • Sets an excellent example, for the team to follow. • Early identification of risk and opportunities, and making data-backed decisions and recommendations. • Ensuring the team maintains quality standards and is motivated and engaged. • Liaising with QA team to coordinate release and QA activities. • Additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS • Maths, Physics or Computer Science Degree • 8 years developing Windows Services C# / 4 years leading a software team / 2 years developing APIs using WCF or REST / 2 years using SQL Server or similar databases. • Experience of web front end development desirable. • Experience of automated build and test systems desirable • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning) • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and talk, hear and see. • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
