DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an enthusiastic Student Engineer to join our team specializing in design and development for our Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems business in the Cwmbran, Wales, UK During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence July 2025
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
1. Gain hands-on experience by working on live projects under the supervision of an experienced Engineer, ensuring real-world exposure.
2. Involve in various aspects of a typical Engineering role, including the detailed design of components to industry standards.
3. Participate in creating construction or tolerance layouts, and conduct thorough testing of physical components for performance and reliability.
4. Acquire knowledge about simulation techniques and software used in engineering projects to predict and enhance performance.
5. Undertake an individual project that focuses on developing specific skills and knowledge, paving the way for future career advancement.
6. Develop a comprehensive understanding of engineering practices and principles, preparing you for a successful career in the engineering field.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
7. Currently studying for an accredited engineering degree, preferably Mechanical Engineering or transferable.
8. Show an interest in working in a global corporation and Adaptability to working in a changing environment
9. Capable of independent working and team work as required
10. Keen to work in an automotive organisation with a keen interest in the automotive industry
