We are looking for someone to join our Nursery as an Early Years Practitioner (Level 2 or above). If you are a fun loving individual, with bags of stamina, eyes in the back of your head, not adverse to dribble (or worse!); don't mind wearing silly hats or pretending to be a lion, can withstand the elements, the cold and the wet (there's no such thing as bad weather); can read a story for the umpteenth time with the same enthusiasm as the first, absolutely adore children and have loads to offer to enable them to thrive and grow, please do get in touch.
Our Nursery unit stands within Lever Edge Primary Academy and as such has the use of a wide range of outstanding facilities. The Nursery is purpose built, bright and very well resourced.
Responsibilities:
1. Supporting Child Development:
1. To support the planning and organising of activities in line with children’s learning from 6 months to 4 year olds.
2. To maintain accurate up-to-date records.
3. To have an up-to-date knowledge of child development and the early years curriculum.
2. Communication and Engagement:
1. To communicate and engage with children to support their speech and language development e.g. storytelling and singing.
2. To communicate effectively with members of the nursery team.
3. To work in partnership with parents and colleagues.
4. To welcome parents and visitors to the nursery in a cheerful and friendly manner.
3. Child Protection and Safeguarding:
1. To be alert to issues of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring that the welfare and safety of children attending the nursery is promoted and any safeguarding concerns are reported to the Nursery Manager.
2. To support the management of children’s behaviour.
3. To undertake specific tasks relating to the safety and hygiene of the children and the cleanliness of the nursery, maintaining a cleaning routine under the direction of the Nursery Manager.
4. To work within all Lever Edge Primary Academy’s policies and procedures.
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
An application form can be obtained from the school website or office.
