About The Role As an SEN Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, providing them with tailored support both inside and outside the classroom. You will play a key role in helping them achieve their full potential, while working as part of a supportive and committed team. Key Responsibilities Of SEN Graduate Learning Support Assistant Provide targeted support to students with special educational needs on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, using appropriate communication aids and strategies to facilitate their participation in classroom activities. Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching methods to meet the unique needs of students. Assist in creating an inclusive and nurturing environment, promoting engagement and managing classroom behaviour. Provide emotional and social support to students, fostering their confidence. Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the development and best outcomes for students. Essential Requirements Of SEN Graduate Learning Support Assistant A bachelor’s degree specialised in psychology, education, or a relevant field is necessary. Experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviour is essential, ideally within a SEN school setting. Strong knowledge of SEN strategies and relevant educational frameworks tailored to special needs students. Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations, while effectively adapting support strategies to meet individual needs. Strong teamwork skills are crucial as you will work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to provide the best possible support.
