How would you teach Classics in an interesting and challenging manner?
An exciting and highly rewarding opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Classics teacher to join our busy and vibrant Classics Department on a temporary full-time or part-time contract. The department encompasses various specialisms including philosophy, linguistics, history, and literature. Pupils are introduced to both Latin and Greek from Year 7 to Year 9, fostering linguistic challenge and developing analytical and problem-solving skills. Exploring mythology and key locations around the Classical world enables students to understand the people behind the languages.
Pupils have opportunities to enhance their learning through trips to national and international sites of interest. The Classics Department maintains strong numbers at GCSE and A level, with many pupils applying to read Classics at university each year.
