We are an engineering consultancy practice working in the transport (predominantly rail) & energy sectors and have established operations in the UK, North America & Australia, with further expansion due into the Middle East and Nordics in 2025.
The Commercial Manager’s position is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of experienced industry leaders, to continue the exponential growth of TXM Consult. The role will drive day-to-day running of the business, along with helping to develop the business plan and vision to achieve continual growth across sectors and regions we serve.
TXM Consult is part of the TXM Group of companies which aims to grow extensively in the coming years from £200m to £500m turnover. TXM Consult’s current turnover is £15m (130 FTE’s & Associates), with ambitious growth plans to attain £50m turnover within 3 years.

You will bring proven communication and people management skills to establish and maintain successful working relationships. You should be willing to learn, thrive on challenge and be highly self-motivated.
* Communicate, monitor, and provide support to the business in respect to the contractual and commercial obligations for all new and existing client and supplier contracts.
* Working internal teams to analyse project financial and business financial data.
* Provide support across financial interfaces and the periodic completion of the management accounts.
* Business forecasting
* Provide accurate price guidance to all business stakeholders.
* Compliance of the TXM Consult bid process
* Participate in the evolving Business Planning process and assist with annual budget development.
* Prepare and develop periodic reports and analysis
* Participate in commercial customer reviews with service sector leads
* Develop and continuously improve commercial strategies to align with company objectives, vision, and growth targets. Draw on lessons learnt to develop best practices.
* Oversee and manage the Commercial Coordinator, provide guidance and development of team members.
* Work with contract specialists, contract managers and project managers to deliver across live and existing projects and work packages.
* Provide weekly updates to the Commercial Director regarding the status of commercial activities, including highlights, alerts, priorities, escalations, risk, if support required.
* Deputise for the Commercial Director as required.
* Actively participate in increasing the viability and compliance of all health & safety expectations, while also promoting zero deviation.
* Maintain compliance with all TXM Consult and TXM Group policies and continuously improve procedures and ways of working.
About you...
· Experience working in a rail or engineering consultancy environment would be advantageous
· A degree or professional qualification preferred and / or 3 to 5 years’ experience working in commercial and financial business activities.
· Experience in the accurate management of data, detailed analysis and preparation of written reports and recommendations.
· Previous experience of managing, coaching and mentoring team members.
· Demonstrate experience using/operating business management systems, such as SAP, Sage, CRM systems etc.
· Highly proficient in Microsoft Office packages.

The role will require some domestic travel from time-to-time.
