We are seeking an Interim Service Manager for Housing to join our Adult Social Care and Housing Directorate for a Southern based Local Authority. This is a key operational leadership role that requires a committed presence 1 week per month on site. About the Role As Interim Service Manager, you will: Lead operational delivery of housing services, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred provision. Drive elements of our Housing Transformation Programme, with a focus on service quality and continuous improvement. Ensure legislative and statutory compliance across all service areas, especially in areas such as homelessness and housing renewal. Forge strong, collaborative partnerships with providers and agencies to enhance support and accommodation outcomes. Play an active role within the directorate’s Leadership Group, helping to shape strategic direction and foster a culture of performance and accountability. About You To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate: Substantial leadership experience in delivering housing services, ideally in a multi-agency environment. A degree or equivalent qualification in a housing-related field. In-depth knowledge of housing legislation, statutory duties, and best practices. Confidence in handling complex, sensitive situations with calm, resilience, and strategic thinking. A commitment to people-first, outcomes-focused service delivery. Strong interpersonal skills to lead teams, manage stakeholders, and represent the service at a senior level. Experience in managing change and driving service performance.
