We are looking for an individual who is an experienced Receptionist or has staff management experience, to take on this new role in our busy Emergency Floor (ED/AMU/SDEC/UTC) based at The William Harvey Hospital. The successful applicant will work alongside the Administration manager and lead the team of Admin and Clerical staff. A sound knowledge in the use of hospital-based IT systems is required for the role.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will require excellent communication and organisational skills, along with a minimum of 1 year’s experience in an administrative role in a busy department. The candidate will need to use their own initiative and be able to work unsupervised independently. Additionally, the ability to manage a varied workload is essential. The applicant must be able to work flexible hours and be available to cover shifts.

Skills
* Experience of using software to monitor report and implement processes and systems.
* Experience of working in a team role, where using influencing skills was important.
* Previous relevant experience supporting office manager/ operational manager in administrative functions.
* Use of Word/Excel to a high standard, in order to analyse and present data in a clear and concise way.
* Experience of rostering staff or dealing with sickness management.
* Experience working within the UEAM as a receptionist/Ward Clerk.
Qualifications
* Educated to minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent standard, or relevant demonstrable experience.
Personal/Professional Attributes
* Effective communication skills, including being diplomatic and calm under pressure.
The ability to converse easily and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for all customer-facing roles.
Most positions require a Disclosure and Barring check and will be exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Posts working regularly or unsupervised with children or vulnerable adults require an enhanced check.
