Marketing Analyst - Mars, TUI
Overview of role
This is an exciting opportunity to work with clients such as Mars and TUI amongst others at EssenceMediaCom. The successful applicant will be part of the analytics focal point, responsible for ensuring that all available data and insight, and the tools provided by such, are being used to optimise marketing activity.
You will support our clients in collating and analysing a wide range of data sources to provide valuable insights to the business. These insights will be used to shape our marketing and product strategies, as well as driving strategic decisions around customer retention and acquisition.
You will be responsible for delivering and evolving our bespoke measurement frameworks and ensuring that measurement is at the heart of the campaign planning process. You will use these measurement frameworks as a platform to help report and analyse campaign performance with inferred insight against campaign objectives.
You will build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver presentations that address key business challenges.
Reporting of the role
This role reports to the Marketing Analytics Director.

Measures of success
In three months, you would have:
* Built visibility and trust with multiple stakeholders – both internally and externally. They will see you as a reliable and trusted analyst
* Showcased a good understanding of how some of the proprietary tools we use to help with budget allocation work, and be able to use such tools to answer key business questions
* Delivered brilliant work to the client – error free data delivery with data insight
* Built strong relationships with your fellow team members
In six months, you would have:
* Become a super-user of some of our proprietary budget setting tools
* Used new analytical methods to help set budgets where budget setting tools are not available
* Delivered brilliant work to the client – clear and insightful presentations with actionable planning recommendations
Responsibilities of the role
* Reporting to a Marketing Analytics Director, the role of the Marketing Analyst is to be part of the analytics focal point, responsible for ensuring that all available data and insight, and the tools provided by such, are being used to optimise marketing activity
* The primary concern should be to ensure that results and data are a central part of our planning process. As such, the role involves collating and analysing a wide range of data sources to provide valuable insights to the business
* The successful candidate will use various analytical techniques and tools to help answer critical business questions around media choices, budget setting and portfolio management
* The successful candidate will ensure that measurement is at the forefront of planning with both the short and long-term considered within any business response. Furthermore, they will be able to put together a data and measurement audit and create measurement frameworks for our clients to identify gaps and opportunities for measurement solutions
* The role involves working closely with clients and all internal teams, thus a good understanding of marketing strategy and business concerns for both clients and the agency is desirable
What you will need
* Experience in the media industry
* Marketing or analytical interest – this role would be ideally suited for a very media savvy analyst or a very analytically focused media planner
* Media and marketing knowledge across all channels
* The ability to convert analysis into real world actionable solutions
* Keen interest in innovative analytical techniques
* Strong client facing skills, with the ability to explain complex analysis clearly and simply
* Excellent knowledge of Excel, common econometrics packages and PowerPoint
* Ambitious, determined, creative and self-motivated
Desirables
* Degree in Economics, Maths or Stats (2:1 or above)
* Knowledge of R, VBA, SPSS, Access and Eviews
* Interest in the latest developments in measurement and analytical techniques within the media landscape e.g. conjoint, forecasting, budget recommendations
* Experience of analytics across a range of different sectors, FMCG particularly desirable
* Knowledge of marketing effectiveness theory
