Job Description
As a Fire & Security Engineer, you will be responsible for responding to reactive callouts within contractual response times, diagnosing faults, and providing first-fix resolutions. You will also undertake preventative maintenance and small works, ensuring a high standard of service is delivered. This role includes on-call duties and requires flexibility to work across the Yorkshire and Northwest regions.
Benefits
* Competitive salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum.
* 40-hour workweek, flexible hours between 06:30 - 18:30 to meet client needs.
* Paid overtime: Weekdays - basic rate, Saturdays - time and a half, Sundays & Bank Holidays - double time.
* Call-out allowance: £200 per week (minimal callouts expected).
* Paid door-to-door travel.
* Company van (available for personal use at 18p per mile).

Key Responsibilities
* Attend reactive callouts and provide timely fault diagnosis and first-fix solutions.
* Conduct preventative maintenance and servicing of security and fire systems.
* Install and configure IP and analogue CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems.
* Work with various CCTV networks and recording platforms such as Avigilon, Axis, etc.
* Manage access control solutions from Paxton, Winpak, CEM, and Kantech.
* Maintain and repair intruder alarms (Galaxy, Texecom) in accordance with industry standards.
* Provide out-of-hours technical support and participate in the on-call rota.
* Stay updated on industry regulations and undergo relevant training (manufacturer, Health & Safety, etc.).
Required Experience & Skills
* Minimum 5 years of experience working with fire and security systems.
* Strong understanding of IP CCTV networks and security recording platforms.
* Experience with access control solutions and intruder alarm systems.
* Proficiency in IP and IT networking.
* Fire system experience is advantageous but not essential.
* Previous experience with public space CCTV is preferred.
* Holds CSCS, ECS, or equivalent certification (preferred).
* IPAF licence preferred.

Qualifications
* Evidence of vocational and formal qualifications in fire & security systems.
* Understanding of relevant electrical knowledge and testing.
* Proven track record of continuous professional development through manufacturer training.
* Full, clean UK driving licence.
Additional Information
* Candidates must pass a full 10-year security screening (BS7858 compliant).
* Initial 6-month probationary period.
