Accounts Manager £43,000 - £48,000, Sheffield
The Role
Barber McLelland are working in partnership with a leading independent firm of chartered accountants who are recruiting for an experienced practice accountant for the position of Manager for the firm's Sheffield office.
The firm has an excellent client base throughout the UK with a variety of specialist sectors, providing these businesses with a full range of accounting, business advisory, and taxation services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supporting one of the firm's Directors, the role of Manager will be responsible for the following:
* Management of a varied portfolio of clients, overseeing the delivery of accounting, tax, and business advisory services.
* Managing the day-to-day operations of an established department which covers a wide variety of clients.
* Clients range in size across a diverse portfolio typically smaller owner-managed businesses, including reviewing statutory and year-end accounts, providing commercial business advice to clients, ensuring the delivery of high levels of service are achieved and within budget.
* Manage, support, and mentor staff members.
* Assisting in the development of new clients and identifying additional value-added opportunities within the existing client base.
* Development of strong relationships with the existing client base and developing new clients.
Skills and Qualities
The successful candidate will be ACA/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience working within a firm of accountants. Individuals must have developed a broad range of experience within statutory and management accounting with experience of dealing with clients directly.
The successful individual will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of success in an accountancy practice environment across both audit and accounting engagements.
As Manager, individuals should also be able to demonstrate leadership and business development skills, be commercially astute, and have a strong technical audit and accounting knowledge.
Salary and Benefits
* £40,000 to £48,000 (dependent upon experience)
