Infrastructure Engineer
Location: West Manchester 4 Days Onsite, 1 Day Remote (Flexible)
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Excellent Benefits Package
Our client is a leading UK-based importer and distributor, specialising primarily in wine and operating a successful online store. With a team of 10 IT professionals and a positive, collaborative workplace culture, they are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to act as the final escalation point between the IT Manager and the 2nd Line Support team.

Key Requirements: We are looking for an experienced IT professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and is comfortable working across both on-premises and cloud-based technologies. To succeed in this role, you must have:
Strong experience with VMWare (ESX 8.0+ desirable)
Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Windows Server 2019 or later, and Active Directory
Working knowledge of Intune for device and update management
Experience with on-premise infrastructure management and support
Desirable (experience with some of the following):
Cisco networking equipment and general networking knowledge
Azure / Entra / O365 security management
Veeam backup and restore solutions
Linux systems (e.g., Suse SLES 15, Ubuntu, Rocky, CentOS)
Microsoft online admin tools (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint)
Storage solutions: Nimble/Alletra, Windows File Servers, OSNexus
Network and security technologies: Fortinet firewalls, Ubiquiti, Nexus/Catalyst switches, WiFi networks, structured cabling, and fibre optics
Role & Responsibilities: As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will:
Act as a senior escalation point for 1st and 2nd line technical queries
Resolve 3rd line tickets efficiently and accurately
Provide support and mentoring to junior team members
Design and maintain technical processes, procedures, and documentation
Manage and deploy Azure services and ensure M365/Intune security compliance
Support both cloud and on-prem infrastructure including backups, version control, and monitoring
