Are you ready to advance your career and make a significant impact in the lives of others? At MacIntyre, we are ambitious for ourselves and for each other, prioritising meaningful connections and living a gloriously ordinary life
We are currently seeking compassionate Support Workers for full or a part-time positions. We are looking for people who share our values, who are warm, friendly and willing to learn, and also who celebrate people’s differences. At MacIntyre, we strive to make all of our staff feel included, valued and respected, just like the people we support. We believe that everyone has a voice and deserves to be listened to, and we foster an environment where everyone feels safe and in control.
You will join a friendly team who support John * who is 40 and lives in his own flat within a shared house in Wrexham. John wants staff who are funny and engaging with him and who have a UK or EU automatic driving licence to be able to drive his mobility car to get out & about. John loves to visit national trust venues such as Erddig and Chirk Castle, visit to Chester zoo, Blist Hill Victorian centre or go to his local swimming pool to complete his weekly lengths and maybe visit a café after. John likes trying new things and recently he attended a woodwork session and made a birdhouse. You will support John to attend work on a Friday for a couple of hours, it is important that you are engaged with this too and encourage John to complete all the tasks needed. When John is at home he likes spending time in his flat or in the garden and alongside staff will get all his jobs done and make sure everywhere is clean and tidy.
From the 1st April your hourly rate will be £12.60. In addition to your annual salary, you’ll have the opportunity to work sleep-ins** at an extra £65 per night. This adds an extra £3,380 to your annual salary if you do 1 sleep in a week. There is also often overtime hours available too!
Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorships as we await further guidance from the Home Office. Applications requiring sponsorship cannot be considered at this time. We appreciate your understanding.

What do we want from you?
You don't have to have any past care experience but a kind, caring, creative and patient attitude is a must. We will train you on all the formal key skills you will need in terms of Emergency first aid, safeguarding and giving medication. We hold a number of training courses that you will be expected to attend whilst you are working with MacIntyre, but don’t worry, you will be given plenty of notice.
You must however have a resilient, patient and compassionate attitude as there may be times where you will need to help John control and regulate his emotions and anxiety in line with his Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plan. But please do not worry, full training on this will be provided
