Company Overview: The Like Minded is a creative agency specialising in animation, film, and design. We help organisations connect with their audiences through compelling content and innovative campaigns. Our team is a close-knit group of creatives and strategists, and we pride ourselves on our collaborative culture and can-do spirit.
Role Overview: We are seeking a motivated Account Manager to join our team, someone who will drive new business growth and deliver outstanding client service. In this hybrid role, you’ll split your time between bringing in new client opportunities and nurturing relationships with our existing clients. You will play a key role in expanding our client base by identifying and pursuing leads, while also acting as the day-to-day liaison for several accounts, managing projects and ensuring client satisfaction from start to finish
Key Responsibilities:
* New Business Development: Research and identify prospective client brands and marketing decision-makers in target industries. Initiate contact and engage them with the goal of scheduling credentials meetings or pitch presentations .
Continuously build a pipeline of leads and follow up to secure new business opportunities for the agency.
· Pitching & Proposals: Work closely with senior team members to develop persuasive pitch decks and proposals for potential clients. Contribute market insights and client-specific research to tailor our content solutions to each prospect’s needs. Take part in pitch meetings — prepping materials, presenting certain sections, and confidently communicating our value proposition. Assist in scoping project requirements and creating cost estimates for new work, ensuring proposals are both creative and commercially viable .
· Client Account Management: Serve as the day-to-day account manager for assigned clients (a mix of new and longstanding accounts). Build strong rapport with client contacts through regular check-ins, status updates, and informal touchpoints. Be responsive and attentive to client requests and questions, acting as a trusted advisor. Ensure that clients are happy with deliverables and proactively address any issues or feedback, cultivating long-term partnerships.
* Project Coordination: Working under the guidance of the Creative Operations Manager you will as a part of the role be required to assist in the execution of client projects and campaigns from briefing to delivery. Coordinate internally with our creative, strategy, and production teams to make sure everyone understands the client’s objectives and expectations .
* Strategic Growth & Upselling: Spot opportunities to grow accounts and broaden our engagement with each client. This could mean pitching additional services or proposing extensions of current campaigns. Work with agency directors to set account growth targets and contribute ideas on how to achieve them. Additionally, help refine our new business strategy by sharing on-the-ground insights – for instance, what prospects are asking for, or emerging content trends that could become sales angles
* Administrative Duties: Keep accurate records of all business development and account activities. Maintain our CRM system with up-to-date contact information, lead statuses, notes from meetings, and next steps
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience: Approximately 2+ years of experience in a client-facing role such as account management or business development, ideally within a creative environment. Candidates should have first-hand experience managing client relationships and supporting or driving new business efforts. Exposure to content creation, digital marketing, or similar creative production processes would be desired but not required.
Communication & People Skills: Able to craft clear, persuasive emails and presentations, and equally capable of engaging clients in-person or online. You should be personable and confident.
Strong listening skills and emotional intelligence are important to read between the lines of client feedback and to adapt your approach as needed.
Sales & Negotiation Acumen: A results-driven mindset. You can gracefully handle rejection or objections when they arise .
Tenacity and persuasiveness are key – you can keep a conversation going and highlight the value of our services in ways that resonate with prospective clients. Any prior achievements like meeting sales targets, winning new clients, or expanding accounts would underscore this strength.
Organisational Excellence: Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects without missing deadlines .
This role requires balancing a busy schedule of sales outreach, client meetings, and internal project management. We need someone who can prioritise effectively, maintain up-to-date to-do lists, and ensure follow-ups happen. Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools to track work is a plus.
Proactive Problem-Solver: Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work. You take initiative to get things done – whether that’s researching a prospect before a meeting or stepping in to help a teammate meet a deadline. Calm under pressure and adaptable, you can handle the last-minute changes or surprises that sometimes come with agency projects. We value someone who brings a positive, can-do attitude every day and who will seek solutions independently before asking for help (but isn’t shy to ask when needed).
