Advanced Recruit are recruting for a leading sheet metal and fabrication company specialising in laser cutting, welding, fabrication, and press brake operations. Position Overview: The Production Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the production floor, ensuring that all processes are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal fabrication, including experience with laser cutting, welding, and press brake machinery. This role requires excellent leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the production team, including machine operators, welders, and fabricators. Monitor production schedules and adjust workflow to meet deadlines and production targets. Ensure all products meet quality standards by performing regular inspections and coordinating with the quality assurance team. Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of laser cutting machines, welding equipment, press brakes, and other fabrication tools. Implement and maintain health and safety standards on the production floor, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve efficiency. Train and mentor production staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning. Collaborate with the Production Manager and other departments to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency. Maintain accurate records of production output, equipment maintenance, and personnel performance. Participate in daily production meetings and contribute to planning and process improvement initiatives. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Production Supervisor/Manager or similar role in a sheet metal and fabrication environment. Strong knowledge of laser cutting, press brake and fabrication operations. Familiarity with CNC programming and machine setup is an advantage. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure. Solid understanding of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing setting.
