Electrical & Controls Design Engineer – West Midlands – Permanent – £40-50k + 3 days a week in the office + enhanced pension contribution
Samuel Frank is recruiting for an Electrical & Controls Design Engineer to work for a company on the West side of central Birmingham. The company is going through a period of expansion and is looking for an experienced Electrical & Controls Design Engineer to work from their world class manufacturing facility on a hybrid basis. The successful Electrical & Controls Design Engineer will be responsible for the detailed design of electrical hardware systems.
Key aspects of the Electrical & Controls Design Engineer role include:
1. Knowledge of any of the major Electrical CAD packages such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or SolidWorks Electrical. The company’s CAD package they use is AutoCAD Electrical and they’re happy to cross train.
2. Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday are office based days, and the Electrical & Controls Design Engineer can choose if they work from home or the office on Mondays and Fridays.
3. Opportunity to visit customer sites in the UK & internationally if that’s something you’re interested in doing; however, that’s not an essential requirement.
4. Any knowledge of Functional Safety will be useful.
5. Experience of designing risk assessment processes will be useful.
6. The Electrical & Controls Design Engineer will be involved throughout all project stages including research, product development, detailed design and prototyping through to manufacture and support.
7. Any knowledge of PLC systems would be beneficial too (this is not a programming focused role though).
