Job Title: BEHAVIOURAL SUPPORT ASSISTANT
Location: Grantham
Salary: £83.33 - £95.00 per day
Start: After the October half-term.
GSL Education is seeking a Behavioural Support Assistant in the charming town of Grantham. This is a fulfilling opportunity to provide crucial support to children who need it most.
As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students adjust to school life. This role involves collaborating closely with educators and support personnel to apply behaviour management techniques, offering focused assistance, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive learning environment in the classroom.
Responsibilities:
* Provide personalised assistance to students with behavioural challenges, ensuring they receive the support needed to succeed academically and socially.
* Work with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement effective behaviour management plans.
* Track and report on the progress of students, adjusting support strategies as necessary to promote improvement.
* Assist in maintaining a positive classroom environment by employing appropriate behaviour management techniques.
* Help prepare and organise materials and resources to support students' behavioural and academic needs.
* Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with additional needs.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in supporting children with behavioural challenges.
* Relevant qualifications, including Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or equivalent.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to engaging with students, staff, and families.
* A dedication to creating a welcoming and encouraging learning environment.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
