Birkett House School has a vacancy for a full time Administration Assistant / EHCP Annual Review Coordinator
Birkett House is a very popular and successful multi-sited and all age special school for pupils with learning difficulties in South Leicestershire. The main school site is in Wigston, and we also have inclusion units at Thistly Meadow Primary School (Blaby), Little Hill Primary School (Wigston), Thomas Estley Community College (Broughton Astley) and a purpose built Senior Department based in Countesthorpe.
Job Information:
We are currently looking for a full-time Administration Assistant / EHCP Annual Review Coordinator. You must have the ability to work on your own initiative to ensure school administrative needs are met. You will be customer facing, dealing with parents and visitors in house and on telephones. The post holder will be a single point of contact for all Education, Health, and Care Plans (ECHP) at Birkett House School, in terms of co-ordinating and facilitating the whole annual review process. You will be based at the Wigston site and the hours of work are 9.00am to 4.30pm.
You will need to have:
• excellent literacy and numeracy skills (Level 2 qualifications in Maths / English is essential),
• experience of ICT applications such as Word, Excel and MIS systems,
• an awareness of a range of frameworks that support the education, development and well-being of children and young people,
• excellent accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to multitask,
• good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills; and
• the ability to work on your own initiative and effectively as part of a team.
It would be advantageous but not essential if you have experience of drafting EHCP review documentation, attending EHCP meetings and knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.

Salary: Grade 7, point 11. Pro rata of full time equivalent starts from £21,047. (Full time equivalent: £25,998)
Hours of work: 35 hrs per week
Contract type: 38 weeks per year plus 5 "call in" days (3 school training days and 2 days which will be agreed over the holiday periods with Management)
Contract term: Permanent
