With a rich history spanning over 50 years, our client has established itself as a market leader in sourcing, production, and distribution, primarily serving the UK’s top retailers. Role Summary: We are seeking a Sales Manager who will be accountable for driving volume, value, and margin targets while fostering strong customer relationships and implementing effective sales strategies. Key Deliverables: Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary customer interface, leading negotiations and developing strategic and tactical plans to achieve company volume, value, and margin targets. Develop and sustain positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and loyalty. Provide direct feedback from customers to relevant departments to ensure continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. Sales Strategy & Execution: Work collaboratively with the marketing team to ensure customers have specific tactical plans for both the brand and the customer, driving shelf share, net sales, and margin targets across the full portfolio. Implement customer-specific plans across the full portfolio for the top 15 customers, ensuring cross-sell targets are met. Lead key projects aimed at business growth and increased market share within the South Asian independent retail sector. Forecasting & Demand Planning: Collaborate with the Sales Controller and Demand Planning functions to ensure accurate forecasting of customer volumes, aiding in total business planning accuracy and forward planning. Assist in delivering accurate monthly forecasts for demand planning, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market trends. Team Collaboration & Leadership: Engage with internal teams and stakeholders, promoting a collaborative environment to support joint objectives and performance improvements. Act with initiative, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and persistence in achieving targets. Person Specification: Experience: Significant experience in an FMCG sales role, with a proven track record of working with customers to implement successful brand and customer strategies. Sales & Negotiation Skills: Strong selling, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with a history of growing customer business. Ability to act with initiative and demonstrate persistence in achieving sales targets. Communication Skills: Ability to converse in any of the following languages: Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Urdu is an advantage but not essential.
