Contract: Permanent, full time (35 hours per week)
Salary: £28,573 - £33,224 per annum (plus £3,954 London Weighting Allowance if based from our London hospitals)
Location: Hybrid role based at either of our hospitals or our Burford offices, with frequent travel to our Veterinary hospitals in London and Grimsby.

In this newly created opportunity, you will have the chance to put your own stamp on this role supporting our Veterinary Support Lead in all clinical procurement processes for our animal hospitals (3 sites in London and 1 in Grimsby). Enjoy a dynamic hybrid role with regular opportunities to visit and connect with our teams across our London and Grimsby hospitals.

Key Responsibilities:
* Using your clinical knowledge and expertise, you will make informed decisions and proactively identify procurement opportunities to support the veterinary directorates’ needs.
* Providing front-line support to colleagues and suppliers.
* Coordinating and escalating inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
* Managing purchasing, tender, and supplier review processes.
* Maintaining accurate price lists, asset registers, and contract registers.
* Overseeing the invoicing process for charity partners.

About You
We’re looking for somebody with experience in the healthcare or clinical sector who is eager to apply their clinical knowledge to medical procurement.
* Healthcare Procurement Expertise: You possess a strong understanding of using or procuring medication and equipment within the healthcare sector, ideally within a veterinary practice setting. This experience will enable you to effectively support the directorate’s procurement needs, leveraging your clinical knowledge and expertise to inform decisions and outcomes.
* Proactive and Independent: You are a self-motivated and proactive individual with the ability to work independently, using your own initiative, and as part of a team.
* Highly Organised and Detail-Oriented: You are highly organised and efficient, with a strong attention to detail.
* Analytical Skills: An ability to analyse data to make informed decisions is key.
* Time Management and Resilience: You can prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and remain calm under pressure.
* Excellent Communication and Relationship Building: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge, skills, and experience
* Relevant academic education, qualification such as RN or RVN (Nurse), MRCVS (vet) or demonstrable experience in veterinary or human medicine.
* Experience of, or a demonstrable strong understanding of, medical equipment and pharmaceutical applications within the veterinary or health care sector.
* Experience of creating, maintaining & updating internal software systems, databases, spreadsheets and timelines.
* Experience of working with demanding schedules and deadlines.
* Experience of internal and external stakeholder management.
* The ability to present and communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
* The ability to demonstrate, understand and apply our Blue Cross values.
Although not essential, it would be great if you also had:
* RCVS registration
* Experience of veterinary equipment pharmaceutical procurement or veterinary practice management.
* Experience of supporting procurement processes across a range of goods and services.
* Experience of contract and supplier performance reviews.
* Demonstrable evidence of supporting end-to-end tender processes or bid management.
* Experience and knowledge of legal compliance and dealing with professional bodies.
* Understanding of commercial terms and processes.
