Job Title: Technical Maintenance Engineer (Electrical)
Salary: Up to £38,700 + Benefits
Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer looking to make an impact in a dynamic industrial environment? We are currently seeking a Technical Maintenance Engineer to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the performance of our on-site electrical systems.
About the Role
As part of the Electrical Engineering team, you will direct and oversee engineering tasks and contractor activities to support the manufacturing site. Your primary responsibilities will include performing preventive maintenance, conducting inspections, and providing critical expertise to resolve faults swiftly, ensuring manufacturing continuity and high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards as well as company policies.
2. Support manufacturing performance through preventive maintenance and fault diagnosis in complex electrical systems.
3. Manage and allocate resources for planned maintenance schedules and effectively organize contractor labor to meet maintenance objectives.
4. Monitor the quality and cost-efficiency of engineering and contract work, ensuring projects remain within budget.
5. Develop your expertise in maintenance techniques, stay current with the latest equipment advancements, and share knowledge with specialists and teams.
6. Issue certificates of isolation as part of safe systems of work, ensuring that changes to processes are risk assessed.
7. Provide engineering expertise to identify opportunities for improvements in plant performance and safety.
What You Will Need
The ideal candidate will have a solid practical knowledge of Electrical Engineering, with several years of relevant experience in a heavy manufacturing environment. You should be qualified to HNC level or possess equivalent experience.
Key skills and qualifications include:
1. Strong supervisory skills to ensure the safe and efficient execution of engineering repair work.
2. Excellent communication skills and the ability to adhere to tight deadlines.
3. Knowledge and experience in electrical safety and safe systems of work.
4. Experience with AC and DC motors.
5. Experience with PLCs and SCADA systems.
6. Experience with digital drives and motor control.
7. A systematic problem-solving approach and the ability to read electrical drawings.
8. Familiarity with SAP and basic Microsoft IT skills.
