Role: Lifeguard Trainer Contract: Seasonal Contract commencing March 2025 Located: Lets Go Hydro, Belfast International Watersports Resort, Knockbracken Reservoir, Mealough Road Hours of Work: Flexible work pattern required, working up to 40 hours per week, providing training on site prior to peak season and thereafter. Including day, evening and weekends. Must also be available for monthly training. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for marketing, setting up and delivering engaging training programmes that educate employees on first aid and NPLQ Lifeguard courses. The Trainer will play a crucial role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of our workforce and customers, ensuring effective communication and understanding of the material presented. Responsibilities Conduct training sessions in an engaging manner to facilitate learning and retention. Educate employees and keep their qualifications up to date Evaluate individual staff performance, providing feedback on areas in need of attention or growth. Communicate clearly with participants to ensure understanding of the content delivered. Collaborate with management to identify training needs and tailor programmes accordingly. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and training practices. Essential skills/experience: 1-2 years experience in a Lifeguard training role, supervising lifeguards and lifesavers Relevant qualifications in education, training, or a related field would be advantageous First Aid and CPR qualification RLSS Training Excellent communication skills when dealing with the public Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures Enjoy working outdoors, with a can-do attitude, and customer service and safety focused Desirable skills/experience: Health and Safety training Previous experience with advanced water sports/ activities Previous supervisor and management experience A hardworking, flexible attitude is required with a potential to develop further. Training for the role can be provided, however excellent people skills and experience working with young people is essential and you must be enthusiastic and passionate about working outdoors.
