Job Title: Financial Accountant We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing statutory accounts, managing tax submissions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for a diverse range of external clients. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including Management Accountants, to ensure smooth year-end processes, while also offering proactive financial advice to clients to help them navigate complex tax and reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities: Statutory Accounts: Prepare annual statutory accounts for limited companies, including consolidated accounts where applicable. Tax Returns: Prepare and submit corporation tax returns and directors' self-assessment tax returns. Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate tax treatment of capitalized items, prepare tax computations, and submit filings to HMRC and Companies House (including share issues and director appointments). Companies House Secretarial: Complete and file confirmation statements, maintain company records, and report changes to Companies House and HMRC. Client & Internal Communication: Liaise with HMRC and Companies House on behalf of clients, and collaborate with internal teams regarding year-end adjustments and tax matters. Client Support: Provide timely, proactive financial and tax advice to both clients and internal teams. Timely Reminders: Send reminders to clients to ensure on-time payment of Corporation Tax and Self-Assessment liabilities. Qualifications & Requirements: Qualifications: ACCA or ACA qualified, or nearing completion of studies. Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, with solid experience in statutory accounts preparation and tax compliance. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel). Knowledge of Xero and TaxCalc is desirable but not essential. Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy and a methodical approach to tasks, ensuring compliance and correctness. Preferred Skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. Quick learner with a keen interest in new technology and software.
