A Day in the Life
As a Technical Consultant for Structural Heart, you will provide thorough and in-depth technical support to interventional cardiology professionals including physicians, nurses, and other cath lab personnel. You will play a key role in supporting the commercial organization with extending and developing the accounts and customer product portfolio usage. With a passion for helping patients and a clinical training mindset, you will make a significant difference in the north of the UK. We offer you a position where you can work independently, while improving the lives of people suffering from severe aortic stenosis. You will spend much of your time at hospitals, supporting transcatheter aortic valve implant (TAVI) procedures. This support includes ‘scrubbing in’ with the clinical team, loading the replacement valve onto a catheter delivery system (under sterile conditions), and then providing clinical case support during the implant.
You will be part of a strong technical consultant team of 10 colleagues that support each region across the UK and Ireland. You will mainly support Scotland and the North East of England, and this role involves extensive travel every week (80% on territory / 20% off territory).
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
* Ensuring best-in-class clinical case support of transcatheter aortic valve implant (TAVI) procedures using the Medtronic CoreValve Evolut system.
* Utilizing 3mensio CT imaging software to support pre-procedural case planning with the implanting team.
* Providing in-depth training and education to all required healthcare professionals to ensure excellent patient outcomes as well as presenting the latest clinical data.
* Organizing technical and scientific presentations and/or training events at internal and external meetings / congresses.
* Supporting appropriate intraoperative sales in close collaboration with the sales team.
* Supporting the country sales and marketing strategy; working with sales representatives and manager to be the chosen supplier and achieve business plan objectives.
* Supporting all other business unit activities including but not limited to; product launches, product training, simulator training, operator certification management, valve loader training and certification, inventory / stock management.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in any life science / healthcare, registered nurse, cath lab specialist, or other technical education.
* Convincing clinical, operational or interventional / cath lab experience.
* Manual dexterity and visual acuity required.
* Ability to work independently on projects/duties as well as contributing to a larger team.
* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and proven ability to operate in a matrix environment.
* Great relationship builder with a passion for being out in the field and supporting healthcare professionals.
* Ability to accommodate a very flexible work schedule and in possession of a valid driver’s license.
Previous TAVI / Structural Heart experience is a distinct advantage.
