Job overview
Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Cook to join our team at Humber Centre, Willerby. You will ensure that the Food Service operation produces and serves high quality food to all food consumers in accordance and full compliance with contractual requirements as agreed between Clients and the Trust.
You will ensure that a high standard of food production is achieved and maintained throughout the operation, with close attention being paid to the quality of products purchased, menu variety and correct cooking practices and presentation.
We are looking for staff that are enthusiastic, motivated and have good interpersonal and communication skills to work as part of a team, and generate the provision of a high quality, cost effective food service in accordance with statutory legislation and Trust Policies regarding Health & Safety and food Hygiene.
Shifts are every Tuesday and Wednesday, working 10-6.30pm, with 1 hour break.
Main duties of the job
You will be able to demonstrate a degree of skills in food preparation and presentation including textured diets. The cook will prepare meals and follow establishment recipes. Duties include preparing ingredients, adhering to the restaurant menu, and following food health and safety procedures. Cook, clean, assist other cooks and staff and deliver food in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Requirements
* Knowledge of textured diets
Experience
* Understand current Food Safety Legislation
* Experience of the cook freeze system or prime cooking
* Experience of working in Mental Health services and care homes
* Full knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment.
Skills and Competencies
* Team player as well as being able to work on your own.
* Well organised person.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
