About the role
Come and join our Wastewater Networks team at Northumbrian Water and be part of an exciting opportunity to support the effective operation and maintenance of our sewerage network. In this role, you will take on the vital task of conducting and assisting with investigations to address sewer flooding, pollution incidents, and other network challenges.

In this role, you will conduct and support detailed network investigations to identify the root causes of issues and implement recommended solutions to enhance the sewer network.
You’ll also engage directly with customers across our operating region, ensuring they are kept informed through various communication methods. With customers at the heart of everything we do, you will play a key role in managing their expectations and delivering excellent service.

The role will involve attending meetings with key stakeholders and contributing to high quality reports based on site findings. You’ll need to deliver these reports accurately and within tight deadlines to our key business stakeholders.
About you
We’re looking for the successful candidate to have proven experience of delivering excellent customer service and experience working in a customer focused environment. You should also have knowledge of Health and Safety procedures, with an understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks (such as customer, financial, Health & Safety, quality, and environmental standards) being highly desirable.
The ideal candidate will be a strong team player who supports and involves others in problem solving and decision making processes. You will also demonstrate effective relationship management and networking skills, working collaboratively across all areas of the business and with external stakeholders.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with excellent literacy, numeracy, and problem solving abilities. We value individuals who are innovative, proactive, and able to identify and suggest improvements to existing ways of working.

This role has also been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you’ll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test.
