Ensuring that they support people to achieve their outcomes and what matters to them. To oversee the day to day running of the service with accountability, integrity and responsibility. Main tasks of the job: Leading by example and demonstrating an approachable and supportive manner to the support staff and the wider team. Embedding a team work ethos among all staff at all times Directing and mentoring the whole workforce including team leaders, senior support workers and support workers and allocating tasks and duties. Ensuring that the support staff are compliant with their training needs. Delivering planned training to the workforce Driving the workforce to engage with clients and their families in a meaningful and person-centred way. When supporting clients, ensuring that they are at the heart of everything the service does. In conjunction with the team leaders and the support workers, ensuring that medication is administered and signed for in line with the relevant medication policy and procedure Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team and to work across organisational boundaries of care and ensure an holistic approach to service provision. To foster and establish strong networks across the MDT including good and transparent relationships with the LA, CCG, and the community mental health team. Implement weekly medication audits and the booking in and returning of all medication Implement weekly financial audits to ensure there is no financial abuse of clients and that there is a weekly budget in place and being adhered to. In conjunction with the team leader, overseeing the monitoring of the health and well being of all the clients and contacting health professionals, social services, family/representatives and recording this information in care plans Dealing with any emergencies effectively and professionally Arrange and complete supervisions and appraisals for the staff team. These are to be completed at least every 6 weeks or when required. Working with Senior managers and HR advisors to conduct investigations or internal disciplinary procedures when required. Facilitating staff supervisions and appraisals with support workers and team leaders as required. To develop and write care plans and risk assessments that are person centred and developed based upon the clients needs and strengths. Care plans and risk assessments are reviewed at least every three months To work closely with senior management and HR to establish the recruitment needs of the service To work with HR manager to identify and recruit support workers Interview candidates for support worker and Team Leader positions Provide at least a 4 week rota for the overall staffing of the service and authorising or declining holiday requests of the team. Ensure that all the team and new staff are compliant with HR Legal and Induction requirements With support from the team lead ensure that all staff are reading and following the care plans and risk assessments. Adhere to the company policies and procedures and encourage the staff team to do similarly. To manage and report and safeguarding concerns to the local authority. To ensure that any referrals to health professionals are made in a timely manner when required. To ensure that any housing issues or faulty equipment is documented and reported so that measures can be taken to resolve the issues. Supervision: Undertake scheduled spot checks and supervised visits on carers when requested by the manager and feedback effectively to support the training and development of team members Undertake on-going competency checks on team members Provide mentor-ship to new team members during induction Undertake supervised visits with staff members to facilitate the development of professional skills and support the development and training of the staff care team Work with the Service Managers and staff team to ensure the best outcomes for clients at all times & set high personal standards of care to instil good practice into new members of the care team Family Centred Care: To liaise with clients and families frequently To create a harmonious working relationship with the families of the clients we support To work with families to ensure a family centred approach to care. Working in partnership with parents and families to achieve family centred care.
