Location: This opportunity is available to those who live within a commutable distance of Birmingham. Due to working hours, we recommend a maximum of one hour from / to base which for this role is Oxford Street, B5 5NR. Please note there will be no reimbursement of travel to and from work.

The BBC Flexi Job Apprentice Agency (FJAA) is offering an exciting opportunity to be a Level 3 Production Apprentice.
The production apprenticeship helps you gain experience in the exciting world of media production. You’ll learn on-the-job, developing your knowledge and skills while working towards your production apprenticeship qualification with our learning provider Bauer Academy.
Full Fat TV are a high quality, long-running factual entertainment company producing content for the world’s biggest platforms including the BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5, Discovery and Sky. Full Fat TV creates unmissable unscripted content crafted with love and care, telling compelling stories from all over the UK.
Working primarily on a new BBC daytime commission, Back Seat Cops, you will learn from leading professionals and develop an understanding of what goes into making broadcast television and the creative stages that occur throughout the process.
This is an exciting first step into the editorial side of programme making, giving tools for future careers in fields such as Runner, Junior Researcher, Broadcast Assistant, Content and Edit Producer, Junior Production Coordinator, or Technical Operator.
Through the BBC’s Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency, you will be hired by the BBC and be placed with Full Fat TV for the first 6 months of your apprenticeship. After 6 months you may be given the opportunity to stay at Full Fat TV, or the BBC will find you a new placement.
An apprenticeship requires full commitment and discipline from the learner. Alongside experiences and training, there is an expectation of wider self-learning and the requirement to meet learning objectives and deadlines, as outlined by the apprentice standards.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
What will you be doing on the apprenticeship?
1. Assist with a variety of tasks and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment contributing to every phase of the production process.
2. General office assistance such as answering the phones, filing and scanning, processing receipts and expenses, ordering supplies and other tasks that contribute to the success of the production.
3. Help to organise shoots including assistance on location, handling call sheets, organising travel and accommodation.
4. Organise and complete production paperwork including logging and transcripts.
5. Participate in team production meetings.

* Are passionate about their own self-development, showing the discipline and commitment required to complete the apprenticeship.

To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC, you must:
* Be aged 18 or over when the apprenticeship starts in April 2025.
* Live within a commutable distance of Birmingham.
* By the start of the apprenticeship in April 2025, have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for a minimum of 3 years.
* Be eligible to work in the UK full time for the duration of the apprenticeship contract.
* Not currently taking part in an apprenticeship scheme supported by the BBC or another organisation.
To apply for this scheme, you must also:
* Not have completed or hold qualifications in the apprenticeship subject at the same or higher level.
* Be available for the in-person assessment which will take place at BBC Birmingham on 10th March.
* Be able to start on Tuesday 22nd April 2025.
