Following a recent internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a temporary People Advisor to join our fantastic team here at SaTH. We welcome applications from HR professionals who want to work within our Trust Values.
The successful candidate will be working with departments across a broad range of employee-related issues including disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence management, and change management.
In addition to an understanding of employment law, the candidates will be involved with working with Trade Unions and a diverse range of stakeholders. You'll be CIPD qualified with experience at a similar level. Applicants will be asked to work flexibly and in an agile way, including working from home and regular on-site working.
Main duties of the job
* The jobholders will have personal responsibility for ER cases within allocated Departments and may be required to assist colleagues in other areas of the Trust. They will ensure that cases are managed in a Just and Learning way and that we are inclusive in our approach. They will be required to coach and mentor managers to progress ER matters.
* To be the first point of contact for their allocated Departments on the full range of operational Human Resource issues, ensuring that Trust policies and standards are adhered to.
* To interpret employment legislation, terms and conditions of employment, and all areas of Trust HR policy and to provide detailed information and guidance both orally and in writing to Line Managers and Staff Representatives on such matters.
* To support managers in the resolution of grievances and to participate in hearing or presenting any of the stages of the procedure, including appeal.
* To work with Managers, staff, and staff-side representatives to achieve a positive employee relations environment and to resolve issues constructively and in partnership.

Working closely with other members of the People Advisory Service, the post holders will ensure that operational ER services are customer-focused, consistent, comprehensive, efficient, and professional. The role is diverse; therefore, excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving skills are paramount.
The People Advisor will be line managed by a Senior People Advisor, who will provide guidance and support in meeting performance and personal development objectives.
