Responsibilities:
1. Senior Psychiatric input and clinical leadership for the locality Multidisciplinary Team, ensuring safe and effective care for patients and carers.
2. Supervision of psychiatric medical staff within the Learning Disability Service.
3. Undertake teaching and educational initiatives to develop skills of the Local Multidisciplinary team and the wider Learning Disability Service.
4. Interface with neurology and other health services to facilitate access for service users to appropriate care.
5. Senior interface with community mental health services to ensure optimal Psychiatric Services for service users.
6. Provide psychiatric advice and leadership to Clinical Reference Groups and engage in management activities.
7. Liaison with children services to optimise the transition of children into adult services.
8. Maintain and develop professional competencies through The Royal College of Psychiatrists' monitored Personal Development Plan.
9. Support and participate in Clinical Governance and Audit.
10. Comply with all Trust policies, including Equal Opportunities policies, promoting equality of access to healthcare.
11. Participate in the consultant out of hours on-call rota and reciprocal cover arrangements for annual and study leave.
12. Utilise electronic patient records system to maintain clinical records, clinical coding, outcomes, and activity.
