SEMH Teacher (Secondary) - Newcastle upon Tyne
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Pay: £150 - £207 per day (experience dependent)
Full-time | Monday to Friday | Term-time only
Are you an experienced teacher with a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a fantastic alternative provision in Newcastle that caters to students aged 11-16 who require additional support to succeed in education. This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teacher who can engage and inspire young people with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to small groups of KS3 and KS4 pupils
2. Provide consistent emotional and behavioural support in line with the provision's trauma-informed approach
3. Collaborate with support staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to create bespoke learning plans
4. Monitor student progress and adapt strategies as needed
5. Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
Requirements:
1. QTS or QTLS (essential)
2. Experience teaching students with SEMH or within an alternative provision/PRU (preferred)
3. Strong behaviour management and communication skills
4. Ability to build trusting relationships with vulnerable learners
5. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
