If so, we have the job for you We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic Junior Occupational Therapist to undertake a post within the Therapy Teams at the University Hospital of North Midlands. This rotational post offers a wide range of opportunities to work in an exciting Major Trauma Centre across the medical, surgical and specialised divisions across both sites. There are a wide range of rotational experiences available; hand therapy, acute rehab trauma unit, emergency portals, cardiology and medicine, dementia and delirium, amputee rehab, critical care, oncology and renal. Main duties of the job Below outlines details of the clinical opportunities available on this rotation: Hand therapy -Treat patients in an out-patient setting who have hand injuries including splint design and fabrication. Acute Rehab Trauma Unit -Early rehab of neuro surgical and poly trauma patients including cognitive and functional assessments. Emergency Portals -Rapid decision making for patients in A&E to support discharge planning, equipment provision and admission avoidance. Cardiology and General Medicine -Treat patients with medical conditions such as MND, Cardiology and post Critical Care Step down. Dementia and Delirium (Frail Elderly)- Develop skills in frailty and falls management and supporting patients with dementia and delirium. Amputee Rehabilitation (Surgery) -Treat patients following lower limb amputations including wheelchair and environmental assessments. Oncology and Renal Treat patients with oncology/renal conditions, including fast track discharge planning, manual handling assessments and equipment provision. Critical care - Develop skills in anxiety management, cognitive assessments and early functional rehabilitation in a high dependency environment.
