Position: Project Manager (E&I)
Location: UK & Ireland
Rate: £47.50/hour
Contract Type: CIS / Limited Company (subject to IR35 assessment)
Duration: Minimum 12 months
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Electrical & Instrumentation) to lead the successful delivery of a major industrial project. This role will involve overseeing project execution, ensuring safety, quality, and cost control while managing resources effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, or Heavy Industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop pre-mobilisation plans and pre-construction requirements, including HSE and Quality Plans.
* Validate and prepare commercial budgets while ensuring accurate project reporting structures.
* Assess and plan labour, supervision, and equipment needs throughout construction phases.
* Ensure all work methods align with company and client safety policies and industry best practices.
* Identify and address project deviations or risks that require special evaluation under the contract.
* Oversee budget adherence, investigating and accounting for any variances in man-hours.
* Ensure the construction team structure is effective and that all roles are clearly defined.
* Support and coordinate the project design and constructability review process.
* Work closely with the HSE Manager to implement and manage project health and safety procedures.
* Prepare and submit technical and financial proposals in collaboration with the Proposal Manager.
* Maintain project cost control and reporting to ensure financial targets are met.
* Mentor and train junior and intermediate staff, ensuring knowledge transfer and leadership development.
* Support field teams in resolving technical and constructability issues as they arise.
* Manage and administer subcontract agreements, ensuring performance and compliance.
* Prepare and oversee project reporting, including daily/weekly/monthly updates across HSE, Procurement, Project Controls, Commercial, Quality, Engineering, and Construction.
Candidate Requirements:
* 15+ years of construction experience, including 10+ years as a Project Manager.
* Relevant qualifications in Construction, Electrical Engineering, or related trades.
* Project Management certification (preferred).
* Experience in the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, or Heavy Industrial sectors (preferred).
* Strong contractual knowledge and understanding of contract administration.
* In-depth knowledge of project controls, estimating, scheduling, and planning.
* Comprehensive understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices.
* Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
Additional Information:
* Full-time, site-based role (rotational schedule not available).
* Lodge allowance may be available for non-local candidates.
