What is the purpose of this job?
The post holder will be required to provide programme administration and support to the Traincrew Programme and team.
What can I expect to do in this job?
This isn’t an exhaustive list, but things you can expect to lead and be involved with include:
Key Responsibilities:
1. To provide programme support for the Traincrew programme team.
2. To undertake regular programme/project reviews, so that quality processes, procedures, and appropriate templates are used, and provide ongoing maintenance of the established processes and procedures.
3. Project/programme documents, processes, procedures and guidelines are followed by team members and provide guidance/programme to the team as necessary.
4. To support the programme’s projects are accurately planned and tracked.
5. Assist the programme team with the creation and delivery of management reporting.
6. Support and co-ordinate meetings, workshops and other events include the production of formal agendas and packs as appropriate.
7. Support define (document) the detailed requirements and other supporting documents (output) that support the objective and scope outlined in the programme brief, mandate and PID.
8. Assist the Traincrew programme team by managing programme risks and issues (RAID) and be responsible for logging and monitoring all known risks and issues.
9. To assist with configuration management for the Traincrew programme throughout their project lifecycles.
10. Provide support in delivering the programme communications plan, developing on-going communication material
What experience, skills and knowledge do I need?
· Essential
It is essential that the post holder has the following knowledge and understanding
1. Experience of working in a project office environment
2. Understanding of the project office management process in APM (or similar) environment
3. Excellent knowledge of MS Project, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive and/or SharePoint
4. A good aptitude for analytical and problem solving, with good analysis and documentation skills
5. High standard of written English (spelling, grammar and ability to summarise information)

It is desirable that the post holder has the following knowledge and understanding
1. Knowledge of different project management methods
2. Agile development methodologies
3. Experience in the creation of a project support office
4. Project auditing
5. BCS Programme & Project Support Office (Foundation) qualification
6. Use of SmartSheet/Jungle Mail/Power BI

The post requires strong interpersonal skills in order that the post holder can motivate, negotiate, influence and build strong relationships with all levels of staff internally within the Organisation.
Requirements
Degree/ HND/ HNC with a number of years’ experience in a similar service role or:
Significant vocational experience, demonstrating development through involvement in a series of progressively more demanding service roles.
APM Foundation / Practitioner professional qualifications.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications (e.g. excel, word, Visio etc.)
Good communication and inter-personal skills
High level of analytical skills
Good presentational skills for reporting on performance of business deliverables
Experience of developing and managing efficient and effective processes and procedures
Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly and effectively
Understanding and experience of managing service contracts and suppliers
Understanding of Operational environment including driver training.
Ability to facilitate and manage workshop delivery
A knowledge and understanding of change management and release procedures
An understanding of the GB Railway and its constituent components
